ABOUT

Saint Junipero Serra, whose name we honor, was an eighteenth century Spanish Franciscan missionary, who founded nine missions in California by means of his evangelistic zeal and unstoppable desire to spread the word of Christ.

In 1934, four Catholic men in Seattle, Washington, recognized a need for an association that would advance the cause of Catholicism and adopted the mission of "fostering vocations to the priesthood and religious life".

Today there are more than 800 Serra Clubs in 37 countries with a membership of more than 20,000 members.  Our local club, the Serra Club of Dallas, was the original club in the DFW metroplex and was chartered in 1948.
